7 Steps to Follow For How To Remove Polygel Nails

Though there are too many ways to remove polygel, today I will tell you the easiest, cheapest, and safest way of how to remove polygel nails. I will show some necessary steps to remove polygel most simply.

If you follow every step, I’m sure you will be able to remove your polygel from your nail without damaging your natural nails. Let’s get start….

Cut the extra length of nails

Cut off your extra length of polygel nails. That will make the following steps easier and will save your time. Use a nail cutter to cut off the nails. You need a sharp nail cutter because polygel is not really thin to cut easily.

Use an e-file

Then you will need an e-file to remove polygel primarily. If you don’t have an e-file you can use a 180 grit file. But that will take more time and it’s not so easy to remove the hard texture from your nail bed.

So it will be better to use an e-file. Set the e-file at 2200 rotates per minute that will remove the polygel without damaging natural nails.

Use acetone

Take some cotton napkins or cotton balls and give it a shape that can wrap your nails. Pour some acetone on the cotton balls and wrap your nails with it. The cotton ball should be fully wet with acetone. Less acetone will take more time to melt the polygel. I will prefer using non-acidic acetone.

Wrap with silver foil paper

Cut some silver foil paper as if you can wrap your whole edge of a finger gently. After wrapping with a cotton ball, wrap your finger edge with foil paper. Keep the wrapping of foil paper up to 15 minutes.

Remove the foil paper

After 15 minutes, pull out the foil paper that you have wrapped. You will see the remaining polygel gets mild. You need a cuticle pusher to remove the mild polygel. Carefully peel off the polygel with a cuticle pusher because at this time your nail bed must be too sensitive because of applying acetone.

Buff to get smooth nails

The importance of Buffing is immeasurable for smoothen nails after removing any nail extensions or polish. After dispelling all the polygel, the nail will become rough.

At first, buff the nail bed with the harsh side of the buffer to remove the remaining polygel and cracks. And then buff with the smoother side to get a soft and smoothie nail bed.

Hydrate your nails

The most important part of protecting your natural nails is hydrating after file and buff. Apply some cuticle oil and buff on the nail bed with a finger.

What should not do?

  • Do not use e-file at a high rotation level. It can cause serious injuries to the natural nail as well as to the finger.
  • Do not wrap with acetone for more than 15 minutes. Pure acetone is acidic that can make the natural nail bed thin and obstruct the natural growth.
  • Don’t forget to apply cuticle oil for hydrating your nails. After each removal of any nail enhancement or nail polish, natural nails become over dry. It can cause disintegrate natural nails.

Normally, polygel nails last long for 21 days. But sometimes, it starts to lift before 20/21 days for some mistake of applying. You can either use an e-file or silver foil paper with acetone to remove polygel.

But following both ways together step by step you will get natural and smoothie nails as before will take less time, and will also protect natural nails growth.

As you can see, how easy and time-saving removing polygel nails are! It can apply without the fear of natural nail damages. People normally go for a product that gives the best results in less time. The easiest applying and removing procedure makes the polygel nails more preferable and comfortable.
